There is constant search for the new solutions for the electrochemical capacitor, which can improve the capacitance and others operating parameters. For this purpose, both electrolyte and electrode material can be modified. The most frequently used electrode material for electrochemical capacitors are carbon materials, like: activated carbons. These materials are prepared by carbonization of precursors, but the most significant impact on the physicochemical properties of activated carbon has modification process. The properties of activated carbon, as porosity, surface area and functionalization of surface have a significant influence on capacitors operating parameters (1,2).
