Chapter 54 Development of a Centralized Lubrication System for Vehicle Chassis

Traditional auto-chassis lubrication is done manually for individual parts. The amount of lubricant to use and the cycle of service are difficult to determine. Other shortcomings include the high work load, long service and maintenance time, and the difficulty to check the lubrication condition. The automatic, centralized auto-chassis lubrication systems, on the other hand, can effectively extend the lifetime of the auto-chassis, reduce the chassis maintenance cost, and enhance the overall performance and quality level of the vehicles. This paper, by describing and reviewing the principle and implementation methods of the automatic centralized lubrication systems for auto-chassis, demonstrates that the new technology can effectively solve many problems in the manual lubrication, improve the technical conditions of the chassis, and have great economic values.
