Proposal of a Generic Skills Improvement System in Which Students, Parents and Teachers Cooperate

A continuous survey of students' Generic Skills (GSs) has been conducted since the academic year of 2014 at Sendai KOSEN. Six years have passed since the survey started, and the survey from admission to graduation at Sendai KOSEN has been completed. For the students at Sendai KOSEN, Hirose Campus, it is observed that their literacy abilities grew first and then the competency abilities grew later. We will propose a generic skill improvement system utilizing a generic skill portfolio (GSP) through cooperation between students, parents and teachers. In this system, students attempt the voluntary growth cycle, while their parents and teachers share their GSP, and support and give advice to them to promote their further growth. Besides, we will introduce a continuous survey expanded to pre-admission and post-graduation.
