STUDY OF ELECTRICITY LOAD PROFILES IN UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES: THE CASE STUDY OF DEMOCRITUS UNIVERSITY OF THRACE

In this paper the real and reactive power consumption of nine university campuses of Democritus University Thrace, Greece are investigated. For this purpose, different load shape factors are used and the calculated results are statistically analysed for different periods. The applicability of day-ahead load forecasting is also investigated and the accuracy of two forecasting methods is evaluated. The proposed tools provide a basis for further modelling and analysis of measured load data of educational buildings. It also contributes to energy benchmarking of university campuses.
