It is generally agreed that practice section is a mandatory part for effective medical imaging technologist education. In order to improve student performance in practice section in medical imaging technologist education, video clips and a computer simulation system were developed and applied. Student performance was evaluated and compared between two classes, one with the application of the video clips and computer simulation system, the other without. The students scored 4.5 points higher in the 4 three-hour practice sections because of the help of video clips and computer simulation. Statistical analysis using independent samples t-tests indicated that the difference was statistically significant. However, there was no significant difference between the scores in other aspects of student performance, including multiple-choice question sections and Q & A section in the term exam. It was concluded that in medical imaging technologist education, video clips and computer simulations that focus on practical procedures improved student performance in practice section.
