摘要

The present paper is concerned with professional egovernmentseeking behavior. With the digitalization ofgovernments, expectations have been raised with regard tochanges in the composition of employee work tasks. Thepurpose of our study is to determine whether these changesaffect seeking behavior and if so how they change it. Wefocus on the status of current seeking behavior in a Danishgovernment administration. The results showed thatinformation needs are commonly verificative andconsciously topical and that information seeking most oftentakes the form of mere “look-ups.” Employees experiencemany search problems, such as the lack of specificity,differences in the interpretation of the topics of documents,and unwieldy and irrelevant search results. These problemscan be solved by a combination of improved indexingpractices and search features.
