摘要

These PEG-MAL hydrogels demonstrated their ability to withstand physiologic strains in weight-bearing joints. Intra-articular injection of PEG-MAL hydrogels has the potential to protect joints in a mouse model of PTOA independent of the presence of drug. The combination of these beneficial effects and the biocompatible properties of the hydrogel make this system an excellent platform for intra-articular delivery to the joint. Future work will focus on alternative drugs to encapsulate within the hydrogel to reduce inflammation.
