摘要

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common and deadly form of brain cancer. Despite the current standard-of-care, patient prognosis is still poor (median survival ~15months; 5+ year survival <10%). Tumor-associated microglia and macrophages (TAMs) in the GBM tumor microenvironment (TME) are believed to be powerful regulators of GBM invasion and therapeutic outcomes. This work focuses on investigating crosstalk between patient-derived GBM biospecimens and TAMs within a gelatin hydrogel platform to uncover the role of GBM-microglial interactions on GBM invasion, microglia activation, and therapeutic resistance.
