Guidance System Design for Downward-looking Strapdown Homing Miniature Munitions

Strapdown homing technology is of great significance to the miniaturization, low-cost and high-reliability of guided munitions and is applied more and more to short-range miniature munitions successfully. The extraction of inertial LOS (line of sight) rate from strapdown seeker detecting information and missile attitude is the focus of this technology. Theoretical decoupling model of inertial LOS angle from detecting LOS information and missile attitude information was established, as well as its rolling stabilizing simplified form. Based on downward-looking scheme, the problem of seeker's small view field was solved. The inertial LOS rate directly used for proportional navigation guidance law was estimated by the mean of TD (tracking differentiator), and a synthetic guidance system was designed. Digital simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve the precise guidance of a short-range miniature munition, which has definite value in engineering.
