The oil production of microalgal bioreactor is optimized using Run-to-Run optimization. After a preliminary run, transfer functions of the model are gained by linearization at the three different time instants during the batch. Using these transfer function models, the input of the batch were calculated so as to handle the traditional optimizing task and at the same time, to consider the error of the previous run to compensate process-model mismatch. Inputs have been successively improved by taking into account the 'error' after each batch run. It is shown that the oil production rate was increased about 30% after five iterations.
