Proposal to replace fowler-nordheim plots by millikan-lauritsen plots as the basic method of analysing experimental field emission data

Fowler-Nordheim (FN) tunnelling is the wave-mechanical tunnelling of electrons through a rounded, field-induced, triangular barrier. Cold field electron emission (CFE) is the statistical emission regime in which electrons, initially in internal local thermodynamic equilibrium, mostly escape by FN tunnelling from states near the emitter's Fermi level.
