High-Pass Filter Consisting of Two L-Type Resonators and Two Interdigitated Capacitors

The article deals with the study and description of a high-pass filter. This filter structure is based on two similar L-type resonators and a microstrip transmission line located on the substrate side opposite to resonators with two identical series connected interdigitated capacitors. The filter is installed on the substrate made of FR-4, with dielectric constant 8=4.4 and thickness h=1.5 mm. The filter structural design and numerical computation were performed with the use of a specialized Ansoft HFSS program. The area of the filter designed with the use of an EM simulations program equals 40×50 = 2000 mm2. Results of the numerical simulation allowed producing a prototype with the use of circuit boards etching technique. Vector network analyzer helped to achieve an amplitude response curve that only slightly differs from the simulation results.
