Optimization design for planar four-bar mechanism based on differential evolution

摘要

Mechanism kinematic synthesis, the identification of the parameters of a mechanism, has been extensively studied especially for four-bar linkages using graphical and numerical optimization approaches. The graphical method is simple, but the accuracy is lower. The analytical method can not be showed visually. The paper studies synthesis of planar linkage mechanisms by differential evolution method and develops the corresponding software. Differential evolution has some features such as simple to use, fast convergence speed and need little information about problems. Through researching, we found it is very suitable to solve some complex optimization problems. The design instances showed that the method was practicable and effective.
