Study for Pit Optimization of Baganuur Coal Mine's Southern Section

It is 28 years since the exploitation commenced on the Baganuur brown coal deposit. The project institution, GyproShakht, divided the deposit into 5 separate mining sections and one preserve section. According to the initial project, mining begins in the 1st and 2nd sections and then proceed through the sections 3rd and 4th. It decided the mining to be finished by the section 5th and left the preserved section to be analyzed later. But the mining operation has been commencing on the southern part of the 5th section during the last 30 years and there is another strip (named as a New Section) has been opened since 1999. It means that the mining strategy and sequence in the initial project has been changed accordingly.
