GEO-INFORMATICS TECHNOLOGY FOR LOCAL ADMINISTRATION GISCHANGWAT: THE GIS ONLINE SERVICE PLATFORM

According to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Science and Technology, the well-being and quality of life of the local Thai people would to be enhanced through science and technology. GISTDA, as the main agency in geo-informatics and space technology has cooperated with provincial and local administration to develop online service geo-informatics platform: "GIS CHANGWAT". The objective is to set up the Decision Support System (DSS) by integrating this technology with the geo-spatial database and Management Information System. The open source software has been applied for data dissemination. The GISCHANGWAT was developed under the cooperation and requirement of both users and data provider. The time series satellite data including THAICHOTE, HRS images with GIS layers and MIS database such as the basic needs information from the Community Development and the budget management plans have been integrated together. How to access information is designed in such a way as to create and identify specific permission for the use and security of the information that is specific to each application database. Access to the data is divided into several levels to better manage the information. Moreover, each function for the members designed to have the tools to support mission-specific management. The GISCHANGWAT online service will facilitate and enhance efficient management in comprehensive, cost- effective beneficial improvement to the Thai people.
