摘要

UV-C fluorescence characteristics of SrAl_2O_4:Pr are studied for development of mercury-free UV sources for sterilization purpose. Samples are prepared by an IR image furnace at 1673 K in Ar flow. Two broadband continuums are observed between 240 and 270 nm and between 280 and 320 nm, which overlap with the germicidal action curve. Under the conditions of the present study, longer sintering time is preferred and the optimum Pr concentration is 1 mol%.
