The optimized parameters for cross-linking PDMS and PVMS and compounding nHA particles will be determined to produce a nHA-PDMS/PVMS composite for tissue scaffold with good biocompatibility, bioactivity and easily manipulated mechanical properties. nHA is known as superior bioactivity but easily brittleness. This engineering composite will overcome the limitations of bioactivity and mechanical properties when independent use of HA or PDMS based materials. The mechanical properties of the nHA-PDMS/PVMS are easily manipulated to mimic the physiological tissues in its applications.
