@@Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) is a common thermoplastic polymer and has been widely used in different fields. However, its combustibility and serious dripping during combustion limit its applications in some fields. Dripping in combustion exhibits potential hazards in fires, especially for the secondary ignition and the scald resulted from the extremely hot melting drips.'31 Flame retardation of traditional phosphorus-containing PET is achieved mostly through dripping, which removes the fire from flaming part.'3"81 Thus, the flame retardancy and anti-dripping of traditional phosphorus-containing PET during combustion hardly coexist. And charring during combustion has been proved to be an effective way to reduce the dripping behaviour.
