It is highly desirable for current ship's insulation composite panels to reduce its weight; therefore a lighter material for skin is necessary. Here, the honeycomb structure is suggested for which excels in strength of the material and in its weight, compared to steel plates. In this paper, the interface matrix of honeycomb composite panel has been derived by the differential equation, governing the bending of a sandwich panel with symmetric laminate face sheets and honeycomb core considering transverse shear deformation. The interface matrix of honeycomb is added to the previously developed transfer matrix method, thus analysis of the multi-layered insulation composite panel with honeycomb is accomplished. Furthermore, predictions of sound transmission loss (STL) for the standard panel with honeycomb and mineral wool are presented. From this approach, a software program has been built to solve sound transmission loss of ship's composite panels including the honeycomb panels.
