The purpose of this paper is to present efficient models of novel metamaterial structures that can offer practical applications for EMI/EMC engineers and provide cost-effective solutions to several challenges in the area of absorbing materials. The design and simulation of an ultra-thin, resonant metamaterial absorber for operation at microwave frequencies is introduced, exhibiting improved bandwidth and wide-angle performance, as opposed to existing configurations. The absorption procedure is discussed in detail and comparisons are conducted to reveal the contribution of the different loss mechanisms to the proposed structure's overall efficiency.
