With rapid evolution, progress and sophistication of Information and Communications Technology, education industry should use ICT effectively and stay abreast with innovations. Classroom Management Tools act as an effective mechanism to curb "distract" and "engage students" in any technology-rich-classroom. This paper highlights some of the higher order challenges faced by students trying to learn programming courses and investigates if classroom management tools can bridge the gap. Professionals were ' chosen from diverse engineering background (ranging from Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and Production Engineering) and experience. While one group comprised of fresh engineering graduates with very limited awareness and knowledge of chosen courses, the other group comprised of seasoned software professionals with two to three years of experience in software development and maintenance in the area of .NET and Java. Thus, the complete study spanned to six different group of engineers, three being newbies and other three seasoned software developers. Training effectiveness and learning outcome of graduates in diametric programming courses is measured using Kirkpatrick model. An open-source classroom management tool was extensively leveraged during the training program. The study showed a general positive trend that use of tools helps in effective teaching and enhanced learning, but also illustrates that impact is higher in courses that involve coding and require more hands-on.practice.
