Method on Checking of the Local Strength of Hull Structure

Checking of local strength is an important process in the design and manufacture of ship.The conventional way to obtain the structure data used for local strength checking is iterated and manual reading of the two-dimensional drawing,which is time-consuming and fallible.TRIBON as a data source has enough precision to do credible strength checking.This paper has solved the data extraction from TRIBON by studying the TRIBON's data-extraction method.A program has been developed for transacting the data into the form of checking of the local strength.The acquisition and treatment of data in deck strength checking has been given as an example.It points that this method can acquire reasonable results and run faster than manual reading.
