Time-varying mechanics test-bed of cantilever beam is the critical support in studying time-varying effect of system due to the large displacement of concentrated mass moving along cantilever beam. Pneumatic accelerating mechanism was designed for gaining the required speed of moving mass. In light of the dynamics model for simulating the accelerating process of moving mass, a matching design was conducted for determining the critical parameters, including air pressure, volume of gas chamber, accelerating stroke, and moving speed. Brake mechanism was designed for the purpose of reducing the impact of the moving mass on the test-bad. The liquid orifice area, brake distance and maximum buffering force were designed and analyzed. The test scheme of cantilever experiment system test plan was designed. Speed of moving mass, strain and deformation of cantilever beam were measured. The effectiveness and correctness were validated by comparing and analyzing the experimental data and analysis results.
