This investigation focused on oxygen and moisture barrier properties of films for military food packaging, in particular an alternative meal bag for use in military ration packaging. This meal bag is part of the Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE ) and is used to hold food and accessory pouches. Film samples were formed into meal bags and the barrier and mechanical properties were compared to the existing meal bag.
