摘要

The objective of this work is to predict the behaviour of PICA-like materials for the thermal protection of space re-entry vehicles. Up to now, the radiative transfer in material is made using equivalent conductivity which is in some cases a crude approximation. In this presenta- tion, we will investigate different radiative models in or- der to select the most efficient in terms of precision/cost ratio. Aside from the intrinsic properties of these models, we will show that it is crucial to use relevant numerical schemes in the simulations.
