A composite system consisting of rectangular fiber reinforced polymer tubes connected to concrete slabs, using GFRP dowels has been developed. This new-style composite beams give full play to excellent compression capability of the concrete slab and excellent tensile capacity of the FRP pipe, reducing the self weight of the structures. Con sidering that the concrete strength, joining stiffness on interfaces, wall thickness of FRP tube, the interface shear force differential equation of the beams is established based on elasticity theory, and the calculating formula of the interface shear forces is proposed by theoretical analysis in the paper.
