Insulated reinforced concrete floor slab beam - comprising T-beam supporting layer of insulation with cast in situ top slab

Each beam consists of an elongated concrete T-piece (8) in which are cast steel tension bars (9). Steel stirrups (1) are spread out along the T-piece from which they protrude. Each stirrup is attached at one end to the tension bars and at the other to a construction bar (2) extending from the T-piece. The bars (2) will eventually cast into the concrete slab (12). The beams support a layer of insulating material such as polystyrene, which is covered by the concrete slab. The part of the stirrup (1) which pierces the layer of insulating material is not cast into the concrete, but is protected by an anti-rust paint.
