Characteristic Analysis on Zhenjiang City Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC)

In order to analyze the relationship between economic factors and industrial environments, the model for GDP per capita and industrial pollutant discharge was conducted to analyze the characteristic of Zhenjiang City's Environmental Kuznets Curve by selecting the economic growth and industrial pollution data of Zhenjiang from 1997 to 2006. The research showed that Zhenjiang's economic and environmental development was in line with the law of the Environmental Kuznets curve, and basically represented an inverted U-shape. The curve of GDP per capita and wastewater discharge have been close to a turning point, and the curve of GDP per capita and industrial waste gas discharge, SO2 discharge, and solid waste production have been at a turning point, which shows that Zhenjiang has just entered the orderly development period of economy and the environment, and that environmental law enforcement and industrial structure adjustment have produced more obvious environmental benefits. The research provided a scientific basis for the evaluation and development of Zhenjiang's environmental economic policy.
