A COMMUNITY WIND ENERGY PROJECT N RURAL ALBANY COUNTY, NEW YORK STATE

A community-owned wind farm is underconsideration at a site near Knox, NY. Theestablishment of a wind farm using mega-wattclass wind turbines requires meteorologicalmonitoring at the site of interest for a period of atleast one year, and preferably longer. SustainableEnergy Developments, Inc. and IntegratedEnvironmental Data, LLC have undertaken tomonitor the wind speed and direction, the windshear and the temperature for this period. A 50 mtilt-up meteorological mast was erected andcommissioned by Sustainable EnergyDevelopments, Inc. near the beginning of October,2006. Data were emailed daily to IntegratedEnvironmental Data, LLC, archived and analyzed.This report summarizes the meteorological dataand energy yield analysis based on the one-yearperiod of record (POR) from October 10, 2006through October 9, 2007.
