One kind of hemispherical liner was designed to meet the penetration requirement that was bigger upside diameter and smaller penetration depth. Using numerical simulation with adaptive mesh method, the thickness and curvature radius of liner were modified and optimized, and the final design was determined. The design was checked up by static explosion experiment. The upside diameter and depth of jet hole were reasonable. The simulation results were in accord with the experimental results that indicated adaptive mesh method had high calculation precision and was suitable for computing large deformation problems such as jet penetration.
