Scenarios for the aviation industry A Delphi-based analysis for 2025

The aviation industry is continuously subject to change and will be significantly affectedby future developments. Therefore, planning with future scenarios provides an importantbasis for long-term aviation strategy development. Nevertheless, there is a lack ofawareness among aviation researchers and practitioners about the value of futurescenarios. In this paper, Delphi-based scenario planning is applied and the findings on thefuture of the aviation industry in the year 2025 are presented. The major researchcontribution thereby consists in the development of probable and unforeseen scenarios ofthe aviation future for long-term strategy planning in the aviation industry.
