Intelligent Variable Message Sign Board responding to weather information

摘要

Currently road Variable Message Sign Board (VMS) is using illumination intensitysensor (CDS) to increase the brightness in the daytime, and decrease it in the nighttimeaccording to ambient light. However, in case of fog occurrence, although the brightness ofVMS needs to be increased as the driver's view becomes cloudy, real brightness of VMSgets lower because ambient brightness becomes darker, which makes drivers cannotrecognize the information of VMS at all. We studied the solution for the drivers to makesafe driving when foggy by helping them realize the road status through VMS informationand recognize fog induction light of VMS from a long distance utilizing fog sensor, highbrightness power LED and fog induction light.
