@@This paper addresses the biological endpoints of selenium (Se) deficiency and toxicity in populations exposed to dietary and environmental selenium compounds.Selenium was identified as an essential micronutrient about 40 years ago,but the poisonous effects of Se on range livestock,known as "alkali disease" in the central USA have been described for about 80 years.
