This paper presents a cab styling of a heavy truck with the concave front and side panels,which has the lower drag.The relationship between the styling of the front and side panels and the drag reduction has been investigated.The purpose of the study is to reduce the drag by the cab styling under the support of CFD analysis,and also to meet the requirements of aesthetics and functions.In the example of the cab styling of a heavy truck,the six cab models have been designed,which have the different front and side panel combinations,typically with the concave surfaces.The drags have been calculated with FLUENT software and the results show that the cab with the concave front and side panels has the lower air resistance coefficient.
