摘要

Metal oxide layers (TiO_2 and TiO_2VZnO) are deposited via chemical routes on SiO_2-precoated glass substrates and their properties were examined. As shown, TiO_2/ZnO/SiO_2 can be an ideal 'sandwich structure' exhibiting both reversible photoinduced hydrophilicity, reaching a near zero contact angle, and enhanced photocatalytic activity, degrading stearic acid by almost 52 %. The results indicate that the coexistence of anatase TiO_2 and high surface area ratio is necessary for the good photoinduced properties of the samples. The capability to control the photoinduced properties of the layers can be significant for certain applications such as self-cleaning windows.
