Method for determination of the reaction kineticsof an enzymatic conversion in a heterogeneoussystem

Within the development of a biotechnological production process for fatty acids fromfatty acid methyl esters using packed bed catalysis the determination of the kinetics ofthe enzymatic reaction is essential. In this particular case immobilized lipase is appliedas catalyst. This contribution presents a method for obtaining the reaction kinetics of theenzymatic hydrolysis of octanoic acid methyl ester and compares modelled andexperimental results.
