Bioadhesion of Microspheres Correlates with In Vivo Intestinal Uptake

Bioadhesive measurements for microsphereformulations comprised of different materials wereperformed on the bulk polymeric material and on themicrosphere formulation itself and compared to thein vivo intestinal uptake of the microspheres.Bioadhesion was found to increase microsphereuptake. The study also indicates the importance ofevaluating bioadhesion of the microsphereformulation in contrast to bulk materialmeasurements.
