The multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) attract attention as a filler of the composite material because of the superior dynamic property, an electric property. However, it was said that the uniform dispersion of CNTs entanglement was very difficult. The authors controlled polarity and free radical with flexibility and viscoelasticity of elastomer molecules and prepared the composites, which uniformly-dispersed various CNTs to elastomer.Non-cured MWCNT / elastomer composites remained non-fluid up to 523K and free of thermal decomposition resulting from chain scission. In addition, the non-cured composites were swelled without dissolving in toluene more than 16wt% MWCNTs.These phenomena were considered to be caused by the cellulation of elastomer matrices of composites, elastomer matrices were nano-cellulated and confined by the interface region formed around the MWCNTs, which region functioned as cell walls.
