摘要

The mechanical behaviour of two types of corrugated sandwich cores are investigated experimentally and modelled analytically; (ⅰ) Corrugation with monolithic composite elements and (ⅱ) a hierarchical sandwich structure (with sandwich core elements). An additional core design, foam filled corrugation, is investigated experimentally and compared to the aforementioned designs. Results show that the hierarchical structure has significantly higher specific strength than the monolithic and foam filled core designs.
