Well-aligned carbon nanotube films (ACNT) were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition(CVD) method and the ACNT tips are opened by water-assisted selective etching during the CVDprocess. Further surface treatments by microwave and UV/Ozone were carried out to facilitateinfiltration of polymer melt into the interspace of ACNTs to prepare uniform ACNT/polymercomposites. The influences of surface treatments on the final thermal conductivity of the treatedACNT/polymer nanocomposites were investigated. Contact angle measurements, X-ray photoelectronspectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectra were used for the CNT surface characterizations. The surfacefunctionalization and the CNT purification/annealing should be balanced for improving the thermaltransport property of the ACNT/polymer nanocomposites.
