Effective Topical Delivery of Peptides and Proteins Following Formulation in a Water-in-Oil Microemulsion

For many years it has not appeared possible to deliver water-soluble molecules such as peptides and proteins via the topical route. We describe successful topical delivery of molecules up to 150 kDa when formulated and administered in water-in-oil microemulsions.
