Natural fiber composites have been widely used in various industrial fields such asportable phone, car body and so on. Natural fibers are well known as environmentalfriendly materials. Jute fiber is one of the kinds of natural fiber, and mechanicalproperties of this fiber are same as glass fiber. However, even jute fiber, mechanicalproperties of these composites are low, therefore it is difficult to use for structuralmember.To overcome these problems, concept of fiber hybrid was applied to the naturalfiber composites. Generally, for the fiber bundle of the reinforcement, only one typeof the reinforcement fiber among glass, carbon and so on has been selected.Mechanical properties and production cost of the composites depend on feature of thefiber bundle.In this study, two kinds of fiber bundle, Glass and Jute fiber, were used in thereinforcement. Sandwich structure was applied into the composites; skin layerconsisted of glass fibers, core layer consisted of jute fibers. The mechanical propertiesof the composites were investigated by using bending tests. As a result of bendingtests, bending strength of the GF /Jute fiber hybrid composite (volume ratio of Jutefiber layer was about 30%) was the highest value in all specimens. Therefore, it can besaid that positive effect of fiber hybrid composite was realized in the composite.
