Eddy currents induced in a steel plate are formulated by integral equations, which are derived from Maxwell's equations by using Green's theorem. As the periodic electromagnetic quantities in the steel plate vary non-sinusoidally, the electromagnetic fields in the steel pate are expanded by the Fourier series, whose fundamental and harmonic components are determined by solving the corresponding integral equations with the surface magnetic fields given as the boundary values. The internal and surface electromagnetic fields are obtained one after the other until convergence by an iterative method.
