Africa Region has the highest road traffic fatality rate 3. Half of all road traffic deaths are among vulnerable road users 4. 17 countries (representing 409m people) have amended their laws on one or more key risk factors for road traffic injuries to bring them into line with best practice. 5. 34 countries (representing 2.1b people) have drink–driving laws in line with best practice.
