The Research of the Conception and Classification of Corporate Political Resources: Based on the Resource Based Theory

The concept of Corporate Political Resources (CPR) focuses on the essence of corporate political strategy within the framework pf the resource-based theory. It gives a strict definition of CPR: It refers to factors such as physical, human or organizational resources prepared and employed by the corporation during its influence over the process of constituting and implementing governmental laws and policy. Its denotation refers to its influence over corporate political strategy, and its connotation refers to firm resources defined by Barney. This paper classified CPR into three dimensions: physical, organizational and human fields, and gives a detailed classification of different political resources under each field. On the basis of the previous discussion and in view of the heterogeneity of strategic resources, this paper further points out the key political resources which a successful corporate political strategy relies on.
