Acidic Microclimate pH Mapping in PLGA Microspheres by Confocal Laser ScanningMicroscopy

摘要

A ratiometric method by confocal laser scanningmicroscopy was developed and employed to examinethe acidic microclimate pH (μpH) distribution inpoly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) microspheres as afunction of: I) polymer molecular weight,ii)microspheres size and iii) microsphere preparationmethod. Favoring acidic pH were higher molecularweight,increased size,and use of w/o/w methodrelative to the o/o method.
