Long-Circulating Liposomes Modified with Nucleosome-Specific Monoclonal Antibody 2C5 asTumor-Targeted Vehicles

To enhance tumor targeting, long-circulatingliposomes were modified with the monoclonalnucleosome(NS)-specific 2C5 antibody (mAb2C5) that recognizes a broad variety of tumorsvia the tumor cell surface-bound NSs. 2C5-modified liposomes demonstrated an increasedin vitro cell binding (by flow cytometry) withtested cancer cells and far superior in vivo tumoraccumulation (by gamma-imaging) than control2C5-free formulations, and could be utilized tospecifically deliver various cargos, includingimaging agents into a variety of tumors.
