摘要

Bioadhesive properties of Cross-linked high amylasestarch (HAS-CL) derivatives were analyzed in variousconditions. Swelling behaviour and surfacecharacteristics of discs obtained by direct compressionof polymeric powders were correlated with theiradhesion forces to a mucin substrate. It was found thatcarboxymethyl (-CM) and aminoethyl (-AE)derivatives exhibited higher mucoadhesive propertiesthan neutral CL-HAS and Ac-HAS. Their adhesivemechanism appeared related mainly to capillaryattraction forces. The spreading coefficients of HASand its derivatives on mucin were also calculated andused for the understanding of bioadhesion mechanism.
