Thermal and tensile properties of ethylcellulose(EC) when compounded with various plasticizerswere examined. These physical properties werecompared with known and experimentallydetermined solubility parameters for the polymer andplasticizers [1]. Results demonstrate a goodcorrelation between similarity of solubilityparameters and polymer plasticizer compatibility.
