Cylinder compression pressure of diesel engine has an important effect on its combustion, exhaust and power. So the compression pressure should be measured periodically. On the other hand, the value of compression pressure relates to the hermetical state of cylinder, measuring the compression pressure contributes to estimate the hermetical state of cylinder. So compression pressure is one of the most important evaluating indicators of diesel working quality. The method for measuring the compression pressure presently is that the pressure is measured directly by a manometer. But in this way it is difficulty to fix the manometer onto the diesel and the workload is rather heavy when we measure the compression pressures of all cylinders one by one. This paper introduced a new method for measuring the compression pressures of tank engine in the way of measuring instantaneous speed of crankshaft. In this paper a mathematic model about the relation between instantaneous speed and compression pressure were built to measure the compression pressure of engine indirectly. The result showed that this method was effective and provided a supporting technology for state measurement of diesel engine.
